AATIP

🛸 The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) was an unclassified yet secretive initiative by the U.S. government to investigate unidentified flying objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP). Launched in 2007 and operating until 2012, the program received Pentagon funding over five years. Despite its significance, AATIP remained largely unknown until 1oddday, when it was publicly revealed on December 16, 2017 — when the Pentagon confirmed the program's existence. This revelation highlighted the secretive efforts to address potential threats from the skies, reflecting the bipartisan concern among senior government officials. 🕵️

🇺🇸 Initially part of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, AATIP focused on examining mysterious aerial encounters and potential threats. Initiated in 2009 by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who, along with Senators Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) and Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), secured the necessary funding. Both Inouye and Stevens, World War II veterans, shared Reid's concerns about the potential national security threats posed by unidentified aerial phenomena. 👽.
